Events and News (updated November 18, 2008)
Thank you to everyone who has turned in a 2009 pledge card. If you have not turned in a card, please prayerfully decide, then fill out a 2009 pledge card and turn it in. For your convenience there are extra 2009 pledge cards available in the usher’s supply box at the entrance to the service, on the “welcome table,” or at the church office. Please turn in cards by Wednesday.
Third Friday, November 21- we will have our monthly live praise, music, prayer and worship service. Come and worship boldly on a night of adoration of God’s love for His people.
The Blood Alliance bloodmobile will be at our Sunday services, November 30th from 9:00 a.m. to noon. We would like to encourage your participation. A sign- up sheet is at the welcome table.
A Kidzone workday is planned for Saturday, November 22 from 9:00 a.m. to noon to organize the garage and make room for our exploding Wednesday night KIDZONE. Please come and help us make room for KIDZONE Station.
A record of your contributions )from 1/1/08 to 11/9/08) are available in the welcome table in a box marked “You’ve Got Mail.” This record is referred to as a Flex Statement. It is your review of all of your 2008 contributions as of November 9th. Please take a moment to pick up your envelope.
The financial committee is working on the 2009 general operating budget. If you have not turned in a pledge card, please do so ASAP.
An Angel Tree will be set up in November to make Christmas brighter for some of our church families in need. Watch f or the Angel Tree to participate in this ministry.
A Christmas party for all women of the church will be at the home of Virginia Kirby at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th.
J.O.Y is sponsoring a trip to the Symphony’s Christmas Coffee Series, “Holiday Pops” on Friday, December 12. The cost this year is $26 each, or $21 each for a group of 10 or more. We will carpool, leaving the church office at 9:30 a.m., and have a Dutch lunch after the concert. This event is open to all. We need to know if you plan to attend by October 26th, with payment made to Sybil by November 3.
Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child: Information will be on the welcome table in the breezeway at the office. For more information, visit www.samaritanpurse.org or see Jan Linden. Filled shoeboxes need to be turned in by Sunday November 23rd.

God is truly good. Our capital campaign for a permanent location for Christ Church is just another confirmation of His goodness. Please clearly memo your check “Building” if you include your tithe (that’s what keeps the doors open and pays the bills) clearly memo the amount for “Tithe” and the amount for “Building.”
Wednesday Night activities resume October 22nd with the beginning of the “30 Days to Live” study.
Youth and children’s programs are included.
Teaching and small groups start at 7:00 p.m.
Music, Prayer, and Worship - This Friday
Every 3rd Friday at 7 p.m. We'll be coming together for Music, Prayer, and Worship. Please join us, and bring a friend.
Women's Thursday Night Bible Study
Women’s Thursday night Bible study will meet at 7:00 p.m. on a study on Act for everyone- part 1. For more information, please call Sharon Jones at

Choir practice is held every Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. Please join us- the only requirement is that you love to sing. Contact Peggy Forbes at 781-7108 for more information.
Discovery Classes 101 thru 401
Discovery Classes will be offered January 11, 2009,
From 3p.m. to 6 p.m. at the office/fellowship center.
Childcare is provided. Please sign up on a white welcome card, and place it in the offering plate during services.
Class 101 - Discovering Membership - is required to join Christ Church.
Class 201 - Discovering Maturity - to learn to grow spiritually,
Class 301 - Discovering Ministry -to find the ministry for you.
Class 401 - Discovering My Mission learn to share Christ.
