Events and News (updated March 7, 2010)
We are going to need help in the following areas:
- Volunteers for the Snack bar
- Volunteers to build the Display tables
- Volunteers for clean up
- Volunteers to direct Traffic.
- Volunteers to man the money collection booth.
- We also need some wood if you have some to donate… we will pick it up or drop it by the office.
4 ft by 8 ft sheets of plywood from 3/8inch to 1/2inch thick . We have 12 and need 13 more.
2x4’s or 2x6’s a minimum length of 4 foot. We need a bunch of these. (600) 4 footers or (300) 8 footers

Tentatively, we will have vendors come in and sell, giving us a percentage of the profit for 3 months. This will give us time to prepare to self perform the concessions.
Pricing will be as follows.
Larry Biggins will be offering a unique class on evangelism on Wednesday Nights. It begins March 3rd, and runs for 4 weeks. Sign up using your communication card.
The process is through Five Discovery Classes:
Classes
101 - Discovering Membership
201 Discovering Discipleship
301 Discovering Ministry. Beginning in February, the 101, 201 and 301 classes will be offered on the 3rd Sunday of every month.
The 401 Class, Discovering Evangelism and the NEW 501 Class, Discovering Anglichnism will be offered quarterly.
Child Care will be provided during class time.
STUDY GENESIS ON WEDNESDAYS:
This is a perfect time to start coming to the Wednesday night program. Holy Eucharist at 5:30 p.m. Pot-luck dinner at 6:15 p.m. Study begins 7:oo p.m. Then you’ll have time with a small group of people who will love you and hold you accountable to your Christian walk. Plan to launch something new!
NEW CHURCH PICTURE DIRECTORY
We will begin to take pictures of all the families in the church for our new online church directory. We will be taking pictures for several weeks. We will print a limited number of directories for those members who do not have online access.
Professional Counseling Services
Professional Counseling Services are now available at Christ Church through SaraHouse Ministries. The Rev. Sarah Nix will be available on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4 :00 p.m. Please call for an appointment.

We started a chapel service for home schooled kids at the office building at 10:30 and the kids are asked to pack a lunch for there will be a time of fellowship afterwards. We will meet every Friday, they can call Patsy Eldredge for any questions. 904-635-6282.
MOM's NEXT began on September 20th, and is for mothers of school aged children. Register HERE or call the church office at 904-771-6723. Invite your friends to come with you.
The next MOM's NEXT meeting will be November 20th, 2009 at 11:30 a.m.
and December 6th at 5 p.m.
Help Someone Get to Church
Help Someone Get to Church: There are several people who would like to attend a 10:45 service on Sunday who do not have a car. Please consider volunteering to pick them up and bring them to church. We can set up a rotating schedule. Tell Fr. Gary or indicate your willingness on your communication card.
Coming Studies in 2010: The staff has been planning studies for 2010. Studies for next year include:
- January: a study on the book of Genesis
- Spring: a 12-week marriage enrichment class by Fr. Gary on Sundays at 1:00
- During Lent: 40 Days of Peace where we will focus on making a difference for Christ in the world.
Members- if you have a pastoral emergency, please call our initial contact person, the Rev. Ann Stewart Hemphill at 891-2928. She will work with the other clergy to make sure you receive care.
Wednesday Morning Activities
Wednesday Morning Activities: Come join us in the study of God’s word at the 9:30 a.m. Women’s Bible Study. Holy Eucharist is at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel.
Christ Centered Recovery Program
Hurts, Habits & Hang-ups. Every Friday night, the program starts at 6 pm:
Dinner ($5 donation suggested, but not required)
Discussions (Large group program followed by small groups) &
Desserts (Holy Grounds and Heavenly Desserts)
A children’s program is provided 7-9 pm
Wednesday Night Activities
Dinner starts at 6:15 p.m. Bring a covered dish to share. Teaching and groups start at 7:00 p.m. There will be two options to choose from.
- Understanding Our Worldview, led by Fr. Mark
- Children and youth programs are included
Capital fund update: 2009 pledged amount $223,374.16. As of Sept 23, 2009, $59,484.82 has been received through pledges. Total year to date pledges and non-pledges received is $128,204.51.
The 10:45 a.m. traditional service meets for choir practice every Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The only requirement is that you can read music. Contact Sandra Sapinski at 396-8778 for more information.

Discovery Classes 101 thru 401
Christ Church’s spiritual growth process is through 4 Discovery Classes.
Starting in May, a Discovery Class will run twice each month on Sunday afternoon. Father Mark will teach the classes.
From 3p.m. to 6 p.m. at the office/fellowship center.
Childcare is provided. Please sign up on a white welcome card, and place it in the offering plate during services.

Class 201 - Discovering Maturity - to learn to grow spiritually. Feb 21
