Rector - Mark Eldredge

Before starting Christ Church, Mark had been a priest and served congregations in both Texas and here in Jacksonville.  God has called him to this new adventure in faith as an Anglican and as rector of Christ Church.  His passion is to see as many people as possible come into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, get connected into a church family, discover their God given purpose in life and then live it to the best of their ability with God’s help!  He wants to see Lives Changed For Good by Jesus.  He is married to Patsy and has three great children.

Associate-Rector -Rob Sanders

Rev. Robert J. Sanders is currently the co-rector of Christ Church Anglican.  Most people call him Rob, but children usually address him as Fr. Rob. He is widowed with two grown daughters, Sara and Elizabeth. He was ordained to the priesthood in January, 1977. He has been the rector of several churches.
Fr Rob states that the most important thing about him is his relationship to Jesus Christ.  "The gospel is simple. The hard part is putting it into practice. I love to teach and will share my faith with church members. I also believe the Bible to be the Word of God, and by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Scripture inherently teaches everything we need to know to obtain salvation in Jesus. The foundation of my teaching is the Bible. I have a deep and wonderful sense of liturgical worship and I love hymns and songs that glorify God.
As you may know, I left the Episcopal Church and am now in the Anglican Mission in America.   Under the old system, I saw church leaders chosen for their status, and that status was often a product of such factors as status in the larger community, their network of friends, and their willingness to serve. These were good people, but many of them had not been educated in the Christian faith, and they had not always committed themselves to Christ and to receive the Spirit.
Please come to our worship services, get to know us, dedicate yourself to Christ and to us. We are working to build his Kingdom, the glorious kingdom of Jesus Christ. He needs you, you need him, and we need each other."

Youth Minister -Shane Williams

God works in mysterious ways.  After 5 years I was called back to Youth Ministry.   I started in youth ministry in 1996 at St. Marks Episcopal Jacksonville, and was there for 3 years. I left to go to Tallahassee and work at St. Johns Episcopal until 2002. God blessed me with a gift to love teenagers no matter how hard they are.  I am part-time at the moment, and pray that God will be able to put me in a situation to go fulltime, because you all well know there is no such thing as part-time youth ministry ...parents can speak to that.   I do have a full-time job working at Zabatt Power systems selling generators.  Please pray for me in this coming year that God would help me be able to organize this incredible group of youth that we have.  I will be looking in our church for volunteers, so do not hide from me on Sundays.

Patricia and her husband Mike have been married since 1971 and have one son. Aside from her Church Administrator duties she instructs stained glass classes, enjoys quilting with the CCA “Quilt & Crafters” group and she also still holds on to her childhood love of horses.

Bishop Johnston

Bishop Thomas Johnston ("TJ") was born in Tuscaloosa, AL and graduated from high school in Spartanburg, SC.  After graduating from law school, he and his wife, Rees, moved to Charleston, where TJ practiced law as a trial attorney.
In 1987, TJ took a leave of absence from the practice of law and with Rees, and their children (Atlee and Welden), moved to Haiti.  TJ worked as a Volunteer for Mission with the Episcopal Church in Haiti where he coordinated partnerships between churches and schools in Haiti and churches and schools in the United States with a focus on rural education and health issues.
In 1991 TJ followed God's leading to seminary and along a path to ordained ministry. After being ordained he served Grace Episcopal Church, Charleston, SC, as an assistant priest for eighteen months.  In 1996 he became an assistant to Bishop Chuck Murphy at All Saints Church, Pawley’s Island, SC.
In January of 1998 TJ and his family left Pawleys Island and moved to Little Rock, AR to start a new Church.  In April of 1998 the Right Rev. Edward Salmon (Bishop of the Diocese of South Carolina) transferred his Letters Dimissory (license) to the Right Rev. John Rucyahana of the Diocese of Shyira, Rwanda.  With this occurrence the seed was planted that would eventually give birth to the missionary movement that is now called the Anglican Mission in the Americas (www.theamia.org).
From the earliest days of the Anglican Mission TJ has been involved in resourcing and starting new churches and the development of emerging leadership for the Mission.  In June of 2001 he was consecrated as a Bishop of the Province of the Episcopal Church of Rwanda for the purpose of overseeing the churches in and the development of the Anglican Mission in the Americas.  He is also serving on the Board of Trustees at Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA (www.tesm.edu).
TJ is committed to leading and growing St. Peter’s Church into a vibrant community of faith where all ages can come to explore, grow and stretch in their faith.  His heart is that individual lives, along with our community, will be transformed by the love God in ways that will stand for an eternity.
Rees is an agent with Prudential Carolina Real Estate, Welden lives in South Carolina, and Atlee lives in North Carolina.
