Christ Church Strategic Plan

Background

History

Christ Church Anglican was formed in August 2006 from a merger of the congregations of The Church of the Epiphany Episcopal Church and Christ the King.   Christ Church currently leases office and fellowship space in a commercial building that will be listed for sale in August 2008, and leases worship space in the chapel and cafetorium at Bishop John Snyder High School.
Christ Church’s vision is, “A Great Commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission will grow a Great Church.”  We believe that these two key scriptures outline the five basic purposes Jesus gave the church to fulfill and if we are greatly committed to these purposes in a balanced way, we will be a healthy, Biblical church and we will naturally grow as God wants us to.   We believe God’s specific plan for Christ Church is to be a regional church at the center of the Westside of Jacksonville which will grow to at least 1000 in average Sunday attendance.

Vision / Mission

Knowing that if you fail to plan you are planning to fail, we are pursuing this vision both strategically and under the daily guidance of the Holy Spirit.
In the spring of 2007, the strategic planning team was formed and began the process of gathering input, setting priorities, and determining goals, objectives, and forming teams for implementing strategic objectives. Goals for fulfilling the five purposes at Christ Church for the next 5 years include:

Discipleship: Every member is actively maturing in their faith through Bible study, fellowship, tithing, and prayer to become more Christ-like.

Fellowship: Every member is in a small group relationship with other members to support and encourage spiritual growth.

Evangelism:  Every member is equipped for and actively practicing one on one evangelism.

Ministry:  Every member discovers and is actively serving in a ministry in Christ Church, with  ministries reflecting the needs and resources of Christ Church.

Worship: Worship is the top priority for all members and worship services provide spiritual growth and development in spirit and in truth.

Facility:  We will have a permanent facility with flexible and multi-purpose space, and with room for growth that meets current and future church needs for achieving the vision of Christ Church.
